Scope and Content Biographical details of father, born 1872. Took certificate at Heriot Watt where he also carved pipe. Employed on restoration of Hutton Castle involving arches. Brother born 1860 in trade as a joiner with whom he seems to have been in partnership, with yard in Easter Road. Put up Liberal Club, Innerleithen; houses at Bellvue; Primrose Street or Place; many houses in Leith; Mussleburgh; Brown Bros; Leith Docks; Kilns in Abbeyhill Crystal Factory; Shrubhill; repair work at Younger's Brewery; repair work at Foundry; Earlston Place; Willowbrae Avenue; Baronscourt; church hall Willowbrae Road. Goes bankrupt in mid-1930s through cheap workmanship flooding market.
