Scope and Content View from south-west showing wooden bridge at Garve, Highland There was a renaissance in the construction of wooden bridges in the late 19th century, the date of this bridge, although it is not clear why this should have happened. This bridge at Garve is one of only four of its type to survive. It is of timber trestle construction, and consists of eight spans, with six main truss spans. The bridge is still in use today.
