Scope and Content Goods shed, Whithorn Station, Wigtownshire Whithorn was the terminus of the Wigtownshire Railway from Newton Stewart, opened in 1877. This two-storey goods shed was probably intended for the storage of goods as well as being a transit shed. This view shows the shed from the town end, with the trackbed of the railway extending into the distance. The little single-storey building to the left was the goods office. The Wigtownshire Railway was originally independent of the joint line with which it connected at Newton Stewart Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
