Scope and Content Road bridge, Spittal of Glenshee, Perthshire This bridge was built as a military road bridge under the superintendence of Major Edward Caulfeild, during the road-building programme which followed the Jacobite rising of 1745-6. This view shows the bridge from the south west. This is a typical small military road bridge, rubble-built, with a pronounced hump. Light fences have been added to the low parapets. This bridge has now been bypassed, but remains in use for light traffic. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
