Scope and Content Bridge of Dee, Invercauld, Aberdeenshire This bridge was built at the expense of the Prince Consort to bypass the narrow and steeply humped Bridge of Dee. The bridge has three main segmental spans, with a small accommodation arch at each end. There are blind oculi in the spandrels This view shows the bridge from the north east, showing the rock-faced finish of most of the masonry, no doubt chosen for its rustic appearance in such a wild and picturesque setting This bridge may well have been built to ease access to Prince Albert's deer forests.
