Scope and Content Glenkeith Distillery, Keith, Banffshire This Scotch malt whisky distillery was rebuilt from a corn mill by Chivas Brothers Ltd. It originally had three stills, for triple distillation. Two more were added in 1970. Saladin boxes were initially used to provide the malt for the distillery. This view shows the distillery courtyard, with the former corn mill on the right. The intention was to create a 'traditional' distillery, in appearance. This was the first new malt whisky distillery built in Scotland since the late-Victorian whisky boom. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
