Scope and Content Dunkeld & Birnam Station, Birnam, Perthshire This station was built as a terminus by the Perth & Dunkeld Railway, and designed by Andrew Heiton of Perth. It became a through station with the opening of the Inverness & Perth Junction Railway in 1863. This view shows the main building from the railway side. The wall that supported the roof of the original train shed can be seen behind the present glazed awning. The station was manned in 1974, but is now unstaffed. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
