Scope and Content Duncansby Head Lighthouse, Caithness This lighthouse was designed by DA Stevenson, and was one of two inter-war lighthouses, the other being Esha Ness in Shetland. Both have square-section towers. This view shows the foghorn, on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pentland Firth. This lighthouse, like all other Northern Lighthouse Board lighthouses, has been automated. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
