Scope and Content Wick Station, Caithness This station was built by the Sutherland and Caithness Railway. It is unusual for a station of its character in Scotland in having a train shed, a concession to the climate. This view shows the interior of the train shed, with the waiting accommodation on the right. There is only one platform, a link with the early days of railways and an indication of the level of traffic expected. The other terminus of this railway, Thurso, has a very similar building.
