Description Wick, Station Road, Station View from SW

Date 1974

Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Wick Station, Caithness This station was built by the Sutherland and Caithness Railway. It is unusual for a station of its character in Scotland in having a train shed, a concession to the climate. This view shows the station from the entrance side, with the roof of the train shed to the right of the projecting jamb. The other terminus of this railway, Thurso, has a very similar building Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
