Scope and Content Chanonry Lighthouse, near Fortrose, Ross and Cromarty This lighthouse was designed by Alan Stevenson. It is a short tapering circular-section tower, on a semicircular base, with continuous corbelling supporting a gallery with plain cast-iron railing. The domed lantern now has triangular panes. This view shows the lighthouse from the south, with the Egyptian-inspired keepers' houses to the rear. This lighthouse is very similar to that at Cromarty, on the other side of the Black Isle, built at the same time. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
