Scope and Content Slochd Mhuic Viaduct, Inverness-shire This viaduct was opened in 1897 by The Highland Railway as part of their direct line from Aviemore to Inverness. It was designed by Murdoch Paterson. This view shows all eight spans with their round-headed arches. This viaduct, Tomatin, and Culloden Moor, further up the line proved to be the last conventional masonry viaducts built in Scotland. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
