Scope and Content Entrance to stable yard, Atholl Arms Hotel Blair Atholl The Atholl Arms Hotel was built after the railway was opened to Blair Atholl, but while horse-drawn coach services were still important in the area. There were therefore stables behind the main hotel buildings. This view shows the arch over the entrance to the stable yard, with a cast model of a horse on top. This was very evocative of life before motor transport. The arch was dismantled c1980, but the model horse has found a home in a country life museum in Blair Atholl.
