Scope and Content Allars Mill, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire Allars Mill was established by the Laidlaw family and was sited on the Jed water. It had closed some years before this photograph was taken, and was in use as a fertiliser store. This view shows the main three-storey and attic L-plan range. This had timber floors supported on cast iron columns. There were weaving sheds behind this block. This mill was built as a spinning mill, and weaving was added later.
