Scope and Content North Water Viaduct, Fisherhills, Angus This viaduct was built for the Montrose & Bervie Railway, a branch of the North British Railway, built to serve fishing villages on the Kincardineshire coast and the mill town of Inverbervie. This view from the west shows the five northern and one southern land arches and the five longer, skewed river spans, all built of red sandstone. This viaduct was closed in 1951, but after many years of disuse has been refurbished as a footbridge and cycleway. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
