Scope and Content Former brewery, Blairgowrie, Perthshire This was one of the larger country breweries in Scotland, probably because Blairgowrie was an important market town and a centre for linen and jute manufacture. The brewery was in two parts, with the maltings set into the bank of the river Ericht This view shows the brewery from the east bank of the river Ericht, with the maltings on the right, set into the riverbank. The brewhouse is behind the maltings. This brewery, like most of its kind closed because of competition with large centralised breweries in the central belt, and was demolished not long after this 1974 photograph was taken.
