Scope and Content Aerial view of Hampden Park Stadium, Mount Annan Drive, Mount Florida, Glasgow Hampden Park is Scotland's national football stadium. It opened on this site in 1903, home then as now of Queen's Park, an amateur club and Scotland's oldest football club, founded in 1867. During the 1990s Hampden was rebuilt and restructured to become a national stadium of which Scotland can be proud. This shows Hampden just before completion of restructuring work to a design by architects, Thomson McCrea. Phase One, installing seats and re-roofing the North and East Stands was done in the early 1990s. In Phase Two the South Stand was rebuilt and the West Stand redeveloped at a cost of £59 million. Hampden has had to fight to keep its place as Scotland's national stadium. Since redevelopment, it is home to a Scottish Football Museum and to the Scottish Football Association's (SFA) offices. Although the SFA took responsibility for Hampden in 2000, it remains the home ground of Queen's Park. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
