Date 7/4/1974

Collection Papers of Professor John R Hume, economic and industrial historian, Glasgow, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 424485

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content Former Blyth Mill, Blyth Bridge, Peebles-shire This grain mill has been converted into a restaurant, with relatively little external alteration. This view shows the main range of the mill, with the former kiln on the left, and the low-breast shrouded paddle wheel on the right. The wheel is 1.22m wide and 4.72m in diameter. It is comparatively unusual to have the wheel of a grain mill on the side of the building. This mill would original have ground oats and animal feeding stuffs. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
