Scope and Content Footbridge, Longniddry Station, East Lothian This station was built by the North British Railway on its line from Edinburgh to Berwick. The footbridge is a late 19th century addition. This view shows the late 19th century footbridge. Unusually the iron or steel structure is diagonally braced, and the timber boarding is for the safety of children. This station survived in use because it serves a village which has become an outer suburb of Edinburgh. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
