Scope and Content Glenkinchie Distillery, by Pencaitland, East Lothian Glenkinchie Distillery is a Lowland Malt Whisky distillery, one of very few survivors. The present buildings date mainly from the 1890s, when the distillery was rebuilt by the Glenkinchie Distillery Co. This view shows the distillery as seen across the bowling green provided by the company for its workers. The distillery is fairly isolated, so this facility was important to the little community of distillery workers. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
