Scope and Content Drawing showing exterior and interior views, section and plan of east window of Kilnave Chapel, Islay, Argyll and Bute A late medieval chapel stands at Kilnave on the west shore of Loch Gruinart on Islay's north coast. Although the chapel has been roofless for several centuries, the walls are still relatively intact. A 19th-century wall encloses the burial-ground. This drawing shows the exterior and interior, plan and section of the east round-headed window in the east wall of the chapel. On the interior face, the window jambs (sides) are splayed, and the window sill is stepped. The voussoirs of this window are of thin slabs of stone, as are those of the west doorway and south window. This style of window-head is similar to other late medieval work at Dunollie and Dunstaffnage Castles. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
