It was powered by water from the Biggar Burn. The mill proper is on the centre right of this view. It was powered by an internal wheel, now removed. Grain to be ground came in at the upper level on the left, and was dried in the kiln, with its louvered ventilator. This was originally a burgh mill to which the burghers took their grain to be ground Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
