Scope and Content Oak Room, first floor, Ardross Castle, Highland Ardross Castle was built in its present form as a Victorian Scots Baronial mansion in 1880-1 by Alexander Ross incorporating parts of an earlier house. This is the Oak Room, so called because of its oak wall-panels. The ceiling is decorated with complex plaster mouldings. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
