Scope and Content Landscape design, Ardross Castle, Highland Ardross Castle was built in its present form as a Victorian Scots Baronial mansion in 1880-1 by Alexander Ross incorporating parts of an earlier house. This is Edward Whyte's design for the castle's formal garden which he laid out in 1909-10. The drawing itself is the work of C E Mallows. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
