Scope and Content Swimming pool, Ardross Castle, Highland Ardross Castle was built in its present form as a Victorian Scots Baronial mansion in 1880-1 by Alexander Ross incorporating parts of an earlier house. This shows the swimming pool after the pool itself (left) had been drained. Unlike in the rest of the castle, the roof is supported by an iron structure. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
