Scope and Content Laird's house, Cadboll estate, Highland Cadboll's key buildings were added by different owners: the castle in the 16th-century, probably by the Bishop of Ross's factor; the house, by Aeneas Macleod in about 1680; and the walled garden, probably in the late 18th century, by the Macleod heirs. This is the laird's house. It was built for Aeneas Macleod, town clerk of Edinburgh, who bought Cadboll in about 1680. Two of the windows of the nearest gable have been blocked.
