Scope and Content Photographs attributed to Reverend J B MacKenzie. Album of deep purple leather, gilt inlay. Possibly produced as a limited edition, c1870s. Inscribed (spine): 'Photos: Ancient Tombs Argyle-shire', (front cover) 'Photographs of Ancient Tombs Argyle-shire', (inside cover) 'James Howatt' (bookplate) and 'L Boyce & Son. Glasgow' (c.1890). Professional photographs of Argyle-shire tomb stones and chapels with written comments, including Kilnuair, Kilmartin, Kilnenain, Kilmory (showing the village), Keills, Castle Sweeney [sic], etc. Kilchrenan and Innishail seem to have been removed.
