Scope and Content Kingillie House, Crescent Road, Nairn, Highland Nairn was founded as a royal burgh in about 1200. By 1800, it was a thriving community with its own fishing town. It developed into a resort after it was connected to the rail network in 1855. Kingillie House was constructed in about 1810 in a variety of styles. Its main entrance is decorated with a Classical (Roman Doric) porch. the bows project on either side have hood-moulded windows in Tudor style. The rear block, however, is castellated.
