Scope and Content Interior, East Parish Church, Church Street, Cromarty, Highland East Parish Church was begun in the late 16th century and almost completely rebuilt between 1700 and 1799. Though some early features survive, its present form is typical of the 18th century. Much of the 18th-century interior survives. The photographer is standing in the east gallery, or Cromarty Loft, constructed in 1756. The north gallery (right) dates from 1739. Opposite is the Scholar's Gallery, probably reconstructed in 1756.
