Scope and Content Post holes, Old harbour, Dysart, Fife Dysart Harbour existed in 1450 and by the 17th century consisted of a U-plan tidal basin. It was absorbed by the present harbour which appears on a map of 1750s. These holes were cut into the rock to hold posts for tying up boats. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
