Scope and Content Stobhall, tower-house, Perth and Kinross The tower-house was built for the Drummonds on a promontory overlooking the Tay in 1578. It is one of several buildings of medieval or later date at Stobhall. Unusually, an earlier medieval chapel was incorporated into the tower-house as a ground-floor hall. In the late 16th or early 17th century a single-storeyed laundry range, with a brewhouse and a bakehouse in the basement beneath, was added to the north of the tower, and a dower house was built across the neck of the promontory.
