Scope and Content Stobhall, tower-house, Perth and Kinross Several buildings of medieval or later date are situated on the promontory at Stobhall. A chapel of 14th- or 15th-century date, was incorporated into the tower-house in 1578, and further buildings were added in the 16th or 17th centuries. John Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth was responsible for the construction of the dower house. The crest and his initials, as well as those of his wife, are carved in this pediment, 'EIP' and 'CIP', for Earl John Perth and Countess Jane Perth. The chapel is the earliest of the buildings at Stobhall. Other buildings include a dower house, laundry, brewhouse and a bakehouse. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
