Scope and Content Stobhall, chapel, Perth and Kinross The chapel is the earliest of several buildings of medieval or later date situated on the promontory at Stobhall. Possibly of 14th- or 15th-century date, it retains much of its medieval character and period detail. The simple rectangular chapel was converted for secular use in 1578 when it became the ground-floor hall attached to a tower-house. This exterior view shows the crowstepped gable of the chapel with the tower-house to the right. The chapel has a particularly fine ceiling decorated with figures of contemporary kings, interspersed with panels of animals, birds and floriated designs. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
