Scope and Content Number 57-59 High Street, Earlsferry, Fife Earlsferry was the terminal for ferries across the Forth - mainly to North Berwick and Dirleton - during the Middle Ages. Accepted as a royal burgh in 1541, it was in decline by the 18th century, but revived as a seaside resort in the late 19th century. Number 57-59 High Street was built in about 1900. Distinctive semicircular pediments overhang the first-floor windows on corbels. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
