Scope and Content Ceiling of 'David Scott Room' (third-floor south room), gatehouse, Falkland Palace, Fife Falkland Palace was remodelled in 1537-41 for King James V (died 1542). The south range dates from his reign, as do the exteriors of the earlier buildings. The east and north ranges were probably both built for King James IV (1488-1513). This is the ceiling of the south room on the third-floor of the gatehouse. The ceiling, which gives the room its present name, was decorated with copies of David Scott's pictures in 1894-6 by Andrew W Lyon. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
