Scope and Content Heraldic painting on gallery, main hall, town hall, west range Pittenweem Priory, Pittenweem, Fife Pittenweem Priory was founded in the 13th century when Augustinian priors moved to the site from the Isle of May. The surviving buildings, probably dating from the 15th century, have been substantially altered and restored since the Middle Ages. This heraldic painting is on the gallery of the main hall of the town hall which replaced the south end of the priory's west range in 1821. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
