Scope and Content Ruins of a township at Corriegarth, Highland Adjacent to Corriegarth Lodge and on the eastern bank of the River Gourag are remains of a township. Grass-covered footings of the township's buildings can be seen in this aerial photograph. In 1872 the Ordnance Survey noted that the buildings were roofed. Township lands were formed jointly by a number of tenants, each with a separate farmsteading. The better land was used for arable crops, the poorer used for grazing stock.
