Scope and Content Mid-restoration view of frontage of Greyfriars Convent (Inverkeithing Museum), Queen Street, Inverkeithing, Fife Greyfriars Convent, a House of Franciscan Friars, was founded about 1350. In 1559 it was sold to John Swinton who probably converted the old guesthouse into a house for himself, and quarried stone from the other buildings. It now serves as a museum. This is the house during its restoration of 1932-4 after the harling had been stripped but before the two forestairs were removed, and the medieval double-lancet window (just below the roof) unblocked.
