Scope and Content Cup-and-ring marked stone from Williamston, Perth and Kinross This cup-and-ring marked stone was found in 1888 in a field 229m south of Williamston Farm. It is now in the collection of the National Museums of Scotland. Another stone, found in 1918, may be part of the same slab. This is a view of the stone. It bears nineteen plain cupmarks and two cups with partial rings. Cupmarks probably played a role in neolithic ritual activity, and are found on isolated boulders, as well as incorporated within monuments. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
