Scope and Content Album of professional prints, navy blue leather embossed with gilt and black patterns and coats of arms. Insc: (spine) 'Illustrations of English and Scottish History. Vol. 1' (1878-1880's) Album of prints mainly by J. Valentine of castles, churches, bridges, towns and topography. Dating by registration of prints so approximate. Includes "Highland washing", "The mill on the Dochart", views of Killin, "The Pioneer" [paddle steamer, providing Islay mail service, 1905-58] in the Sound of Iona, "The parent larches, Dunkeld" and "Sycamore tree, Brodick".
