Scope and Content Gleann Beag, farmstead and standing stones, Perth and Kinross Situated on a terrace on the west side of Gleann Beag are the remains of Craig Derg farmstead and standing stones. Depicted on a map by Archer in 1749, the farmstead may have still been occupied in 1808 when a survey of the Invercauld Estate was done. Craig Derg farmstead comprises at least five rectangular buildings, two enclosures, two kilns and a yard. Three of the standing stones have been incorporated into the corners of two of the buildings. The occupants of farmsteads, like this example, were farmers and cultivated the surrounding land. Some of the buildings were houses, others were byres and barns.
