Oblique aerial view.

SC 390477

Description Oblique aerial view.

Date 1987

Collection RCAHMS Aerial Photography

Catalogue Number SC 390477

Category On-line Digital Images

Copy of A 55293

Scope and Content Faulds, farmstead, Perth and Kinross Immediately to the south-east of Faulds cottage there are the remains of an abandoned farmstead, one of several in the area. It is depicted as 'Folds' farmstead on the map of Stobie in 1783. Comprising a four-compartment building adjoining a rectangular enclosure, the remains of the farmstead are clearly visible in the aerial photograph. A three-compartment building, with a corn-drying kiln behind it, can also be seen. The occupants of farmsteads, like this example, were farmers and cultivated the surrounding land. Some of the buildings were houses, others were byres and barns. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
