Scope and Content PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO.89: THE STRANG COLLECTION, THE BORDERS, cf PAs 87, 89, 92, 93, 94 this is one of six albums associated with the Strang family. Photograph album with views from the Scottish Borders Brown imitation leather cloth bound album, gold-lined on the front cover, insc: 'Photographs'. Verso has E S H Strang's bookplate ('Dulce quos utile'), end paper dated in ms '1896', title page printed 'The Gold Mount Photo-scrap album. Marcus Ward & Co Limited', whose label is also inside the back cover. Photographs of buildings, railways, bridges and river views taken in a dark and wet summer on the Tweed, in Peebles and vicinity, the last few pages having views of The Peel, Busby in Lanarkshire, the Strang family estate. The prints are of uniform size and bordered with gold paint. Purchased at McNaughton's bookshop, Edinburgh
