Scope and Content Alyth, Old Parish Church, Perth and Kinross The old parish church of Alyth stood close to the centre of the old town. Dedicated to St Moluag, it was largely demolished in the mid-19th century, although a part of the church survives in the graveyard. This is one of the columns on the aisle-arcade dating to the late-15th or early 16th century. An earlier medieval fragment of the north wall also survives, incorporating aumbries, a sacrament house and a blocked round-headed doorway. The surviving remains would suggest that the old parish church had a square-ended choir, a nave and aisles of three bays, and a north aisle chapel and sacristy. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
