Scope and Content Craighall, standing stone, Perth and Kinross Craighall standing stone is located 310m north-east of the former saw mill. This is a massive standing stone, rising to a height of 2.5m, with a base measuring 2.6m by 1.7m. On the east face of the stone, near its base, are at least nine plain cupmarks. Standing stones are large boulders or stones erected by people in the Neolithic or Bronze Age. Sometimes grouped together to form stone circles, the function of standing stones is unclear. It is likely that they were associated with prehistoric rituals. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
