Scope and Content Urn on gate pier, Louise Carnegie Memorial Gates, Pittencrieff House, Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, Fife Pittencrieff House was built in about 1635 for Sir Alexander Clerk of Pittencrief. It was bought in 1902 by Andrew Carnegie who presented it to the nation in 1903. In 1909-11 Robert S Lorimer converted it to a museum and club. The Louise Carnegie Memorial Gates were created by Jamieson and Arnott in 1928 with wrought-ironwork by Thomas Hadden who made the balustrade inside the house.
