Scope and Content Porch, Broomhead House, Dunfermline, Fife Broomhead House was built in the mid 19th century and is a good local example of a three-storeyed Victorian mansion house. The porch is decorated with Ionic columns. Ionic is one of the mathematically defined architectural styles or Orders used by the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Rediscovered by architects during the Renaissance, these remained fashionable until the 20th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
