Scope and Content Standing stone, cairns and enclosure at Kintraw, Kilmartin, Argyll and Bute These monuments stand about 200m south-east of Kintraw farmhouse, at the mouth of the Bealach Mor. There are two cairns, a standing stone and what may be an enclosure. Their location gives them a fine view down Loch Craignish. This view shows what is believed to be a 'false portal' (false entrance) on the south-west side of the cairn. In front of this setting there was found a large recumbent stone slab which lay directly on the original land surface. The two cairns were excavated between 1959 and 1960. The standing stone fell down during the winter of 1978, and its socket was examined in 1979. Both the standing stone and the larger cairn have been referred to as the 'Danish King's Grave'.
