Scope and Content Cairn at Dunchragaig, Argyll and Bute This cairn is at Duncraigaig. It has been excavated on at least three occasions and much of the stonework of the cairn has been robbed, probably to build field walls. This is a view of the cairn. Originally, it was surrounded by a kerb of boulders, three of which are visible on the north side. Excavation revealed two cists (only one of which can now be seen) and, on the SE, a burial chamber covered by a large capstone. When the cairn was excavated in 1929, a Food Vessel was found in each of the cists. The pots are now in the Royal Museum of Scotland. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
