Scope and Content Elevation and plan of Canal Offices, North Speirs Wharf, Port Dundas, Forth and Clyde Canal, City of Glasgow The Canal Office at Port Dundas was built around 1812 to serve the Forth Clyde Canal. The two-storeyed block has classical facade, a hipped roof and a projecting central bay with triangular pediment. The Forth-Clyde was Scotland's earliest major, and also longest, canal. It was built in stages between 1768 and 1791. Its structures decayed rapidly after it closed in 1962. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
